Realty entrepreneurs terrorised

DHARAN: Real estate entrepreneurs of Dharan and adjoining areas, facing threats on their lives issued by Samyukta Jatiya Morcha, an underground outfit, have demanded that the government ensure their security.

According to Manoj Bhattarai, General Secretary, Dharan Real Estate Entrepreneurs Association, Sunsari Government Chief of the Morcha Amrit issued threats against various entrepreneurs after seizing plotted land in Deurali of Panchakanya VDC on April 2, 2011. He said they had been living under terror due to threats from outfit cadres.

Bhattarai said entrepreneurs have not been able to work independently due to the donation drive of sister organisations of various political parties and threats from cadres of Jatiya Mukti Morcha. He added, ‘’We want free working environment.’’

In a press meet, the entrepreneurs informed that Morcha cadres had threatened to kill Pushpa Niraula, Maya Niraula, Rohit Basnet, Narayan Prasad Ojha, Manohar Tamrakar and Dhurbajung Acharaya, among others. The entrepreneurs informed that Morcha cadres had threatened to stop the real estate business in Dharan and adjoining areas.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Sunsari Chamber of Commerce and Industries Mohankaji Shakya demanded stern action against those who obstruct business.
