BHAKTAPUR: Bhramayani Brick Kiln of Tathali VDC-9 has imported a modern machine from India for the first time to make bricks. Till now traditional wooden keys were being used to mould clay into bricks. Kilns have been facing human resources problems to make bricks through this traditional method.
“We have started making bricks by using the machine,” said Jibendra Khayamali, the owner of the kiln. The diesel-run machine costs between Rs 800,000 and Rs 1,000,000. A worker can make 500-1,000 bricks in a day, but the machine manufactures 30 bricks in a minute. The machine can make stronger and bigger size than the traditional method that was also considered more pollution creater.
