Kathmandu Property Investment and Real Estate Expo began here on June, 8, 2009 on Sunday in Antwerpen, Belgium as Nepali real estate developers start exploring Nepali real estate market in Europe. This is first-ever real estate expo organised by Nepali housing developers in Europe. Inaugurated by Pramesh Hamal, Nepalese ambassador to Belgium, the expo is primarily targeted at Nepalis living in Europe. About a dozen housing Nepali companies are taking part in the expo including Viswa Binayak Housing and Development Company, Kathmandu Property Investment and Real Estate, Varun Developers, Bagmati Homes, Aayusha Developers, Shangri-La Housing, Kohinoor Hill Housing and Melamchi Aawas. The expo is organised by Market Promotion Centre in coordination with Nepali Entrepeneurs Association of Belgium. Nepali developers are encouraged by the response they are getting in the expo. "The expo has been helpful in identifying requirements of Nepalis living here," said Sagar Thapa, managing director of Market Promotion Centre.
