DADELDHURA, Oct 28: The land prices in Khalanga -- the district headquarters -- and adjoining areas have shot up sharply with the rising number of land and property transactions. Local businessmen are scrambling to invest in land, taking advantage of rising land price in Dadeldhura, which has emerged as new commercial center in far-western region. The onset of favorable business climate in the district has encouraged local people to invest in land, said local businessmen, who are involved in land transactions. “Local people are more interested to buy land in Dadeldhura which has been developing as an important commercial hub in the far-western region,” said Prakash Saud, a local trader. Saud said the price of land per meter has shot up to Rs 400,000 from Rs 100,000 of last year. Local people are interested in investing on land and property in Dadeldhura following the announcement of the construction of West Seti Hydropower Project.
