Land use policy stressed

 Chitwan:Land reform Sub-committee under the Parliamentary Natural Resources and Means Committee held discussion on land use policy of Nepal in Chitwan.

 
The sub-committee held parleys with stakeholders and collected recommendations on land use policy, which is to be framed in coming Kartik (October-November).
 
Participants at the programme presided over by sub-committee coordinator Ratna Gurung demanded placing measures to control growing unmanaged urbanization and haphazard land plotting business.
 
The participants stressed the need to enshrined special arrangements in land use policy to preserve agriculture land by promoting agricultural entrepreneurship.
 
Among the key speakers were UCPN (Maoist) Chitwan district co-incharge Shova Kattel, Nepali Congress district presidents Bikas Koirala CPN-UML district chair Krishna Khanal, chiefs of various NGOs and representatives of other stakeholders.
 
In Kanchanpur, Dalit Janajati Party has warned to launch agitation against the incident of suspending four parliamentarians including the Chairperson of the party on the directive of the Speaker
 
Four parliamentary members including Dalit Janajati Party Chairperson Biswendra Paswan were suspended four days ago on the charge of showing indecent manner by breaching code of conduct of parliament.
 
Janajati Party, Kanchanpur Chapter chair Govinda Nepali accused Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang of suspending parliament members from Dalit community by demonstrating Brahmin tendency.
 
He further alleged the Speaker of keeping mum when Finance Minister was assaulted in the parliament and doing unaccountable work when the parliamentarians were rising voiced for the rights and welfare of Dalits and minorities.
 
He also warned to launch nationwide agitation against the suspension if the Speaker ignored to address their demand.
