REAL ESTATE SECTOR SHOWS PROGRESS

GENUINE BUYERS WHO ARE OCUSED ON GETTING A PLACE OF THEIR OWN BOOST BOOKINGS

After demonstrating the best of what they have to offer in the market at the three-day long `Annapurna Post Homes Real Estate Expo' from 10 to 12 February, participants claim to have a surge in their bookings and sale of properties. With financial institutions claiming to have met the central bank's expectations and the recession having filtered out all incompetent players in the sector, major companies and investors are positive that the realty sector can redeem itself from its previous problems.

Raksha Bajracharya, marketing manager of Downtown Housing Pvt Ltd, says, “The graph of real estate is rising with the feedback collected from the expo marking an affirmative message for the sector. The expo gave a platform to showcase the best and most affordable of our projects. In addition, such exhibition always pushes us to be creative and helps us develop more personal connections with clients.“

According to Bajracharya, though the prices are not revised much, many developers give away discounts, complimentary additions, services and goodies during such expos compensating for rigid pricing. “The expo turned out to be good for Downtown, we had numerous visitors at the stall and we have bookings for around 11 units altogether so far. We were being able to reach out and bring interested buyers to our site, who had visited us at the expo. This is indeed a very good sign. The feedback collected is also positive and we are looking forward to carry positivity from the expo further,“ she adds.

CE Construction Pvt Ltd was the eye candy of the expo, gaining most attention throughout the event. Shambhu Prasad Phuyal, general manager of CE Construction says, “At a time when the realty sector is showing some progressive traits, the expo accelerated the process. However, we learnt the necessity of having on-the-spot booking as many of the visitors were inquiring about spot bookings and we ran it from day two with a booking each day at the expo. Nevertheless, the visits to our sites was overwhelming.
After seeing the model demo at the expo, people are pouring in to inspect our products and the number of interested clients has soared.“ Phuyal informs that he has had five more booking from the expo in a week. According to him, breaking the previous trend of investing in real estate, now buyers are more focused on getting a place of their own.
“The central bank has been really supportive in its policies to bring about some relaxation on interest rates, declaration of weak developers as sick units and facilitating them accord ingly. In addition to this, changing the purpose of high-rises and towers to increase their occupancy and bringing about the concept of multipurpose buildings is also being considered by the state and related authorities. These indicate that the realty sector can soon be back in full swing and we got into the gear because of the expo.“

While new ideas, policies and corrections are being made and other sectors are throwing in support to help the realty get back on its feet, the expo brought back the sector into the limelight.
