What is the difference between a warisnama and an akhtiyarnama?
A warisnama lets someone represent you for office work such as applications, tax payments and collecting documents. Selling or mortgaging property needs a separate, formally verified power of attorney (akhtiyarnama) — this format does not grant that.
Do offices accept a warisnama?
Most offices accept one for routine work, but many ask to verify it — for example with the principal's citizenship copy, photos, or ward attestation. Check the office's requirements first.
I live abroad — can I use this?
For routine work, often yes. For major transactions from abroad, Nepali offices usually require a power of attorney attested by a Nepali embassy or consulate.
